Specialist note
Rare and highly coveted, the present Rolex Daytona wristwatch is set apart from its contemporaries due to its dial. Early example of the reference 16520, the present timepiece features a very attractive 'Four Line' dial with inverted 6 to the hour subsidiary dial of the chronograph. Furthermore, the watch is distinguished by its early bezel, calibrated for 200 instead of 400 units per hour. The present Daytona represents a key opportunity for Rolex collectors to acquire a rare and excellent example of the reference.
Reference 16520
Legendary chronograph, the reference 16520 was the first chronograph of the Rolex manufacture encompassing an automatic movement derived from a Zenith ebauche. Built with a larger case than its predecessors and a sapphire-crystal glass, the timepiece encountered great success and throughout the years has become highly sought after by collectors.
