Specialist note

The stamps on the verso of this photograph have been identified as M32 and M29 in Steven Manford’s book, Behind the photo: the stamps of Man Ray (2009). According to Manford M32 is a posthumous stamp and M29 is a posthumous copyright stamp “numerous photographs sold by Juliet and from the Trust carry an ADAGP stamp” (p. 37).
