Specialist note

This large sheet was originally believed to be a work by Annibale Carracci. Clearly unrelated to Annibale’s work, the unusual and interesting drawing might be the work of a Spanish artist. The pilgrim walking with his dog may be comparable with the figure of Saint Roch.
