Specialist note

The specific type of weaving seen in the present manta is rare, as is its blue center. Joshua Bear explains, "Blue center mantas are the rarest of all Navajo mantas , and this blue center manta has profound intensity and style" (Twelve Classics (Santa Fe, 1989), pl. 2).
