Leong Qiutian (1892-1952), a native of Shunde, Guangdong Province, was an entrepreneur who migrated from China to Singapore. With businesses in Hong Kong and Singapore, he started his career in the textile industry, opening Guang Youcheng Textiles Company in both locations and expanded into Fu’an Department Store in Singapore. As a reputable and wealthy merchant, Leong was honoured by many artists and was often presented with paintings to display in the store.
