The maker's mark of this tankard currently remains unidentified. The mark can be found on other chinoiserie chased pieces including a pair of mugs of 1683, sold Christie's, London, 6 December 1989, lot 233, a single mug of 1682, sold Christie's, London, 14 July 1993, lot 89 and a tankard in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, dated 1670, with a replaced cover, accession no. 36-1865.
