signed 'A. Rodin' (on the front of the base); inscribed with foundry mark '.Georges Rudier. .Fondeur.Paris.' (on the back of the base); with raised signature twice 'A. Rodin' (on the underside)

Conceived in 1884; this bronze version cast in 1953
