Specialist note

Christie’s is extremely excited to be able to offer to international clients and collectors for the first time at international auction the new white gold Nautilus reference 5811/1G-001.

One of the highlights of the contemporary Nautilus of the Ultimate Collection, the present owner, as one of the world’s great watch collectors, was fortunate to be offered this very latest and wildly desirable white gold Nautilus. Presented in pristine condition with full set of accessories the present watch affords collectors the first chance to acquire this already super-exclusive Nautilus immediately without delay.

5811/1G-001
In classic Patek Philippe style, following the discontinuation of the hugely popular steel Nautilus reference 5711 in 2021, the company decided to play a wild card, and to the delight of collectors create a new Nautilus, reference 5811/1G-001. This new Nautilus is not however cased in steel but in white gold with solid white gold bracelet. Described by Patek Philippe as “the reinterpretation of a design icon”, in fact the new model honours the 1976 Nautilus in returning to the original two-part case design whilst retaining the sapphire crystal back of its immediate predecessor. At 41 mm. it is also one millimeter larger than reference 5711. There are further significant changes, refinements and patented innovations including a secured fold-over bracelet clasp, a new lockable adjustment system, and a new pull-out piece lever system for the crown that replaces the famous split stem system. The movement is the Patek caliber 26-330 S C, which powered the last version of reference 5711 between 2019 and 2021.
