"Losing a loved one. The thing that we hope to never experience but know will happen eventually. The feeling of confusion and loneliness that sets in at the realisation that a loved one is gone. The denial, the pain, the acceptance and the healing. How do we cope when we lose a loved one? These paintings have in a sense become a way to acknowledge feelings and emotions that cannot be put into words. They are a documentation of an ongoing process of grief." - Deborah Segun
