Specialist note

Launched in 2008 for the 40th anniversary of the Patek Philippe Gold Ellipse, Reference 5738 is cased in platinum with a sunburst blue dial. The minimal “time only” watch is housed in a “Jumbo” case to match modern wrists. The case measures at 34.5mm X 39mm and has an impressive presence, thanks to the weight and oval-shape on the wrist. The automatic timepiece is slim, measuring under 9mm in thanks to the micro-rotor of inhouse Caliber 240.
