The upper reservoir is filled with water which is forced by gravity out of the nozzle below, both top reservoir and bottom bowl have serrated edges and are decorated with diamond cutting, the fountain supports twelve posy holders, the upper four being cut and the eight lower ones plain, out of sight is a small handle for turning the fountain on and off and a tap for emptying the lower bowl, stamped F & C Osler to the underside, with printed and inscribed Ann and Gordon Getty Collection inventory label
