Specialist note

Impressions of Gathering Fruit, Cassatt's first color print to depict figures in a lush outdoor setting, are rare. This is the only known impression in the tenth state. The edition in the eleventh (final) state was meant to have been twenty; Mathews and Shapiro were able to locate only six examples.
