Specialist note

The offered reference 3970EJ is a highly collectable example within the reference 3970 20-year production period, which was made in 4 different series (1986-2004). The second series, such as the present timepiece, is identifiable with its screw on case back for water resistance, incorporation of “feuille” hands, and oversized hallmarks found at the outside lugs of the case, immediately visible when handling the watch. The present timepiece’s rarity is further enhanced by its condition and completeness, with extraordinary and crisp hallmarks intact on the outside of all four lugs.
