The present reference 5940G is offered in superb, unworn condition and sold with the full set of accessories. Purchased by the present owner in 2014 it has never been offered in public before. According to our research it is one of only a handful of examples of ref. 5940G to appear in public to date fitted with the silvered dial.
Ref. 5940 was launched at Baselworld in 2012, available in yellow and pink gold only. The white gold version, such as the present watch, was introduced in 2014, with silvery-white or black dial. The cushion or “tortue” design is inspired by Patek Philippe’s watches from the 1920s and 1930s, the dial adorned with Breguet numerals further evoking the Art Deco period. Reference 5940 is the successor of reference 3940 and houses the exact same automatic movement as its predecessor, calibre 240. The model was discontinued in 2018.
