Specialist note

A lamp of near identical design to the pair, but silvered and with apparently different switch arrangement, is illustrated in I. Hamerton ed., W.A.S. Benson: Arts and Crafts Luminary and Pioneer of Modern Design, Woodbridge, 2005, p. 147, pl. 125, that example is cited as 'Single Light Table Standard' with the Benson model reference 'No. 1192/S'; comparables for the single Benson lamp are illustrated p. 151, pl. 132 and are described as 'Single-light combination table standard and brackets No. 1293/S'.
