Specialist note

With elaborate brass mounts and lion’s paw feet adorned by gilded acanthus leaves, this pier table labeled and stamped by Charles-Honoré Lannuier exhibits his classical style. The mount in the center depicts the implements of war and is marked CA on the reverse, which perhaps indicates the foundry, although none with these initials could be located.
