Specialist note

Like lots 121 and 122 in this sale, this versatile Tokai was used for a variety of soundtracks that Rodgers worked on: "Yeah, these, all of these are work horses. These were used intermittently to double [they rhythm part] or sometimes they became the main guitar part, because of my light gauge string and pick. They would emulate the Hitmaker very well, and you know, as a musician, you always want some kind of variety, it’s a nice thing. ...So, typically when I used these other guitars, they were mainly for soundtracks. So they were mainly for things like Thelma and Louise [released in 1991], there was another film I did called Earth Girls are Easy [released in 1988]....and you know, when I was doing all these film scores, film soundtracks…The White Knights, with [Mikhail] Baryshnikov [released in 1985], those were the experimental projects, those were the ones that didn’t have to sound like Chic records.... The only one that ended up being super super big, obviously, is Coming to America [released in 1988]."
