Patek 5077P Peacock
Made in a very small edition of only 20 pieces in 2012, the reference 5077P-069 platinum Calatrava wristwatch with cloisonné enamel and black Tahitian mother-of-pearl peacock dial is one of the superb creations of Patek Philippe’s rare handicrafts division. The cloisonné enamel uses 15 enamel colours and enamel paint; a minimum of 11 firings and a total of around 45 hours of work. To make each dial, 60 cm of gold wire is required. The platinum case has a diameter of 38 mm. and houses the famous Patek Philippe caliber 240 automatic movement.
The most spectacular of birds, the peacock symbolizes spirituality, integrity, freedom, guidance and protection. In Greek and Roman mythology the peacock represented the ‘eyes’ of the stars. In Hinduism, the peacock is associated with the god Lakshmi who represents patience, kindness and luck.
