Tasting note: A rarity. This variety almost completely disappeared from the island after 1920. A surprise when you consider that this is the best Malvasia variety, giving wines with more structure and expression.
Deep intense highly extracted aroma’s on the nose, Indian spices and honey cake prevail over more subtle dried fruit notes.
Refined soft start of taste with a creamy richness which broadens in the mouth. The fine concentrated acidity balances out the rich fruits. All in harmony. On the aftertaste this Malvasia lingers on in a gently sweet way with a beautiful focused acidity singing on before fading away in the distance after several minutes.
