Note du spécialiste

The present centerpiece is related to a group of hunting-themed objects associated with extensive surtout de table supplied to Emperor Franz Joseph now in Hofburg Silberkammer, Vienna, and often attributed to Parisian bronzier Henri Picard. Similarly-designed objects, including a pair of candelabra, a mirrored plateau, a pair of lidded vases and an epergne, were sold in The Feather Collection, Christie's, New York, 11 April 2018, lots 501-504.
