Note du spécialiste

The coat-of-arms are those of Maxwell quartering Dennistoun, almost certainly for Sir William Maxwell, 6th Bt. (1748-1829) of Calderwood Castle, Lanarkshire, or possibly General Sir William Maxwell of Calderwood, 7th Bt. (1754-1837), who fought in the American Revolutionary War on the side of the British Army, and succeeded his kinsman the 6th baronet on the latter’s death in 1829.
