One of the rarest of all reference 130, this stunning watch is one of only two known examples cased in white gold. The ultimate ‘stealth wealth’ chronograph, when it was last sold in 2002 it attracted a frisson of excitement and finally achieved the impressive result of CHF 2,918,500, at the time, a world record for any chronograph wristwatch.
For the last almost 20 years, this exceptional rarity has been the cherished property of the same important private collector. As a white gold reference 130 - one of the great Patek Philippe references of all time, it must be considered an undoubted trophy for the aficionado of outstanding timepieces.

When first discovered, the present timepiece surprised collectors through its rarity and sheer beauty, something which it continues to do almost two decades later. The lovely two tone dial displays the ‘short’ Patek Philippe signature found on post 1948 watches, and was therefore almost certainly fitted at the request of its original owner a few years after it purchased in December 1945, just six months after the end of World War II.
Reference 130 Reference 130, one of Patek Philippe's landmark models, was launched in 1934 and remained in production until the 1960s. Distinguished by its timeless "Calatrava" design, the model was available in different precious metals as well as in stainless steel.
The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Museum - Patek Philippe Watches Volume II, pp. 263-265.
