Specialist note

Said to be Mrs. Henry Ford II's favourite service, a dinner service of the same pattern was given to Mrs. Ford by Estée Lauder, circa 1991 and is included in The Collection of Mrs. Henry Ford II: Part I, to be held at Christie’s, New York, 30 March 2021, lot 155. It is possible that this service may have formed part of the same gift.
