A COPPER-RED-DECORATED 'DRAGON' BOWL
CHINA, QING DYNASTY, KANGXI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1662-1722)
The deep, rounded sides rising to a slightly everted rim, finely decorated on the exterior with five dragon medallions and on the interior with a single dragon medallion
5 ¾ in. (14.6 cm.) diam.

The James and Marilynn Alsdorf Collection, Chicago, acquired prior to 1958.

Ayers in the Catalogue, vol. IV, Geneva, 1974, no. A530, where the author mentions another in the Royal Ontario Museum; and a pair is illustrated in Zhongguo taoci daxi (Chinese Ceramics Series), Qingdai taoci daquan (Qing Ceramics , Taipei, 1987, p. 121.
