A RARE CELADON-GLAZED FACETED VASE
QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The slender vase is of facetted hexagonal form and flanked on the neck with a pair of stylized reticulated handles, covered with a pale bluish-green glaze, stopping short of the brown-dressed foot rim.
14 ¼ in. (36 cm.) high

Acquired in the United States in the 1990s.

Specialist note

Celadon-glazed Qianlong-marked vases of this shape are very rare. A Qianlong-marked vase of similar shape and with similar dragon-form handles, but decorated in underglaze blue and yellow enamel, is illustrated in The Tsui Museum of Art, Hong Kong, 1991, no. 122.
