A VERY RARE HUANGHUALI TRESTLE-LEG TABLE
17TH-18TH CENTURY
The single-panel top is set in a rectangular frame above the finely beaded apron and beaded spandrels pierced with ruyi-heads. The whole is raised on trestle legs fitted with openwork panels carved with dragons amidst lingzhi stems and set into shoe feet.

A huanghuali trestle-leg table, also with pierced ruyi spandrels and of similar proportions, but with a more restrained ruyi openwork panel, was sold at Christie's New York, The Collection of Robert Hatfield Ellsworth Part I: Masterworks: Including Indian, Himalayan and Southeast Asian Works of Art, Chinese and Japanese Works of Art, 17 March 2015, lot 48.
