Depicting a courting couple in a pastoral landscape with lamb, dog and castle beyond, in a later fluted and moulded giltwood frame, the reverse with framer's label

Specialist note

This reverse glass painting is after an engraving by René Gaillard, after a painting (now considered lost) 'Le Mouton Favori' by the French genre painter Charles Dominique Eisen (1720-1778).
