Grands mélomanes et eux-mêmes musiciens, les frères Martel accueillent très régulièrement dans leur atelier de la rue Mallet-Stevens des artistes et musiciens, dont la célèbre danseuse péruvienne Nana de Herrera. Cette dernière a notamment inspiré à Merlo Ponti sa figure de gitane pour le célèbre paquet de la marque de cigarettes.
