Specialist note

In production from 1959 to 1977, ref. 1803 can be considered one of the archetypical Day-Date models. Powered by cal. 1555 (up to 1965) and 1556, it is defined by the ribbed bezel and the dial with stepped outer track. It was available with both leather strap and President bracelet.

The present specimen is a rare example of the reference, blessed by the green Khanjar on a silver dial and fitted with a white gold case. Prominently positioned on its dial, the Khanjar symbol, emblem of the Sultanate of Oman, was applied on timepieces ordered by the Sultan and later distributed as gifts to dignitaries or individuals close to His Majesty. Highly sought-after, such timepieces are highly collectible in today's market.
