Specialist note

The present ref. 1675 is in very good overall condition, its appeal further enhanced by the presence of an extremely rare leather passport holder.

It is the perfect case study to observe the results of a thorough modern Rolex Service-Après intervention. Over the last 50 years, the watch was naturally serviced on several occasions, during which it was fitted with Après-Vente dial, hands, bezel and bracelet.
The ethos behind such interventions this is much the same as a ground-up rebuild of a classic car: to be compliant with modern regulations and for regular use.

The present dial featuring the more compact Rolex crown dates from the 1980s. It can be considered as the only official service dial with tritium for the reference 1675 before the Luminova and Superluminova era. It still retains the attractiveness and appeal of a vintage traveler wristwatch.

The present watch is ideal for those seeking the vintage look combined with modern-day practicality – in other words a “new old Rolex”.
