Oscar Marescaux (1825-1907) was the manager of the Colonial Bank in Jamaica. He was of French stock, the son of Adolphe Marescaux of St. Omer, but was born in London. He married Isabella Anne East, daughter of Hinton East, councillor of Jamaica in 1864. He bought the Cherry Garden Great House which he enlarged and remodelled. His son, Oscar Hyde East Marescaux, was born in London and entered the British Army serving in the The Kings (Shropshire Light Infantry). He retired to Jamaica.
