Humorously carved as the head of a bulldog with a protruding fang, with rose-cut diamond-set eyes, mounted with a gold collar, decorated with a miniature lock, apparently unmarked; in the original grey felt case, with wooden cane
1 7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) high

Acquired by the great-great-grandfather of the previous owner in Russia before 1917.

A similar cane handle in the form of a bulldog was sold Christie’s, London, 29 November 2010, lot 255.
