Specialist note

The Lange 1 Tourbillon (such as the present lot), "Homage to F.A. Lange", was produced in 2010 in a limited series of 150 pieces to commemorate the 165th anniversary of the company together with the Tourbograph Pour le Mérite and 1815 Moonphase. All three models are made of 18k honey-coloured gold, a material exclusively developed for A. Lange & Söhne. The honey-coloured gold has a warm, subtle hue and is significantly harder than regular gold alloys, allowing A. Lange & Söhne to create with the present example offered here for sale, a more durable and wear-resistant timepiece.

This watch is furthermore the world's first wristwatch combining a tourbillon, a patented oversized date, twin barrels fo the three days power reserve and a progressive power reserve indicator. The movement is composed of 378 parts and the tourbillon consists of 72 pieces.
