Painted with an exotic bird perched on flowering foliage, a phoenix in flight above, the reverse with indianische Blumen issuing from rockwork, above a gilt-line footrim
14½ in. (36.8 cm.) high

Specialist note

A vase and cover decorated in a similar manner with exotic birds and flowering plants is in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, museum no. C.574&A-1922, and another, attributed to Stadler, is in the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen, Dresden, illustrated by Ulrich Pietsch et al., Triumph of the Blue Swords, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen, Dresden, Exhibition Catalogue, 2010, p. 211, cat. no. 94.
