Specialist note

The Pagoda model was made in 1997 to commemorate the inauguration of Patek Philippe's new watchmaking center in Geneva. The present watch is celebrated because of its unusual case design, a curved rectangular shape with angular flared lugs and concave sides. Named the 'Pagoda', the case back is engraved; COMMEMORATION, 1997, PAGODA'.

Reference 5500 was produced in a limited edition of 1100 examples in 18k yellow gold, 500 in 18k pink gold, 250 in 18k white gold, such as the present watch, and 150 in platinum.
