Patek Philippe. A Fine and Very Rare Platinum Cushion-Shaped Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Wristwatch with Moon Phases and Breguet Numerals

Reference 5020 was in production from 1994 until 2002, and available in yellow, pink, and white gold, as well as platinum. It is believed that less than 600 examples of this reference were ever made. Of all the colors made, platinum is considered one of the rarest variants and is considered a holy grail of watch collections today. Thanks to its generous proportions, reference 5020 is easily distinguishable from other Patek Philippe wristwatches and takes a unique position in the production of perpetual calendar chronographs.

This example was made in 2001 and is one of the last examples of the 5020P to ever be produced. While no one but Patek Philippe knows exactly how many platinum examples were ever produced, less than 10 examples in platinum have ever surfaced publicly for sale to date and strong prices to compete to own complete examples are the norm at auction today.

This example is offered from the original owner who purchased the watch at Hausmann Jewelers in 2001. Please note, platinum versions of the reference 5020 were not manufactured with an extra solid case back. To the best of our knowledge the present watch has never before been offered in public.
