engraving, circa 1480, on laid paper, without watermark, a good but fragmented impression of the second, final state, with substantial paper losses and defects mainly at the sheet corner and edges, extensively and very skilfully repaired and made up with pen and ink, the central subject largely intact
Sheet 262 x 217 mm.

Specialist note

This large, multi-figure composition is one of the most important prints by this anonymous master. Most known impressions are severely trimmed or restored. Of a total of 17 impressions known to Lehrs, he considered only four to be in good condition.
