L'animal est représenté de façon très naturaliste, la tête encadrée de longues antennes, le corps et les pattes entièrement mobiles et les yeux exorbités rehaussés d'or nunomezogan.

Specialist note

Jizai okimono appeared in the 17th century: they were articulated items, made by armorers and offered to daimyo in times of peace to win their loyalty and show the extent of their talent. During the 19th century, jizai okimono became collectibles highly appreciated by Europeans.
