Specialist note
Reference 77 was launched in 1930 and remained in production only a short period of time. It is one of the firm’s first wristwatches attributed a reference number, system introduced in 1934. The model is distinguished by its Art Deco style case with three steps to each side.
The present example impresses with its very well preserved case, crisp platinum mark and sharp edges. It is believed to be one of only two ref. 77 in platinum known from the market to date.
Ref. 77 is illustrated in Patek Philippe Museum - Patek Philippe Watches, Vol. II, p. 184.
