ATTRIBUTED TO GEORGES JACOB, CIRCA 1765
With husk-carved frame covered in blue silk brocade, on carved sabre legs

Acquired from René Weiller, Paris, 1968-9.

Note du spécialiste

This chaise can be attributed to the celebrated menuisier Georges Jacob based on the unusually shaped rails of the inside of the seatrail which is a particular leit motif of his oeuvre.
