Tasting note: Always such a joy to taste in cask. I was fortunate enough to have three dips, first in the June after the vintage, bowled over by the fruit, flesh and spice which tended to make one overlook a certain austerity and tannic content. A masculine Margaux. Still opaque and youthful looking: crisp fruit, opening up beautifully; sweet, lovely fruit, attractive but very tannic. Last tasted Nov 2000 *(***)? Give it lots of time M.B.
