woodcut, 1898, on simili-Japan paper, a very good impression of this rare print, with wide margins, a few spots of printer's ink in the left margin, a flattened crease at lower left, other minor defects, the subject in good condition

Acquired at the above sale by the present owner.

Specialist note

Mogens Ballin (1871-1914) was a Danish artist associated with Paul Sérusier and Les Nabis. This rare double portrait of Ballin and his wife, belonged to Sérusier himself. We are aware of only six impressions, including this example, to have been offered at auction since 1984.
