Ahmed Farid (Egyptian, b. 1950)

The works of the self-taught artist Ahmed Farid are a blend of American and Egyptian aspects, where the artist draws influences from Willem de Kooning, Gazbia Sirry and Nicolas de Staël. Focusing on certain aspects of Egyptian social issues, he blends the chaotic and the glamorous into his ethereal and brightly lit panoramic compositions.
