Specialist note

This pair of Han dynasty vases was previously in the private collection of a Lady of title, in Eaton Square. Formed in the 1960s and 70s, the collection was partly dispersed in 1995 when a set of twelve Chinese Export chairs was sold in these rooms (£128,000 including premium) and again in 2005/6 when the present lot was sold at Christie’s South Kensington.
