Specialist note

This chair was designed for W. J. Bassett-Lowke, a manufacturer of models, for 13 Kingswell Street, Northampton (see Billcliffe op. cit.). The chair was sold to Mr Cave, owing to a shortage of space and then left to his daughter, who wrote a letter regarding the provenance, a copy of which is offered with this lot.
