Specialist note
Entirely fresh to the market and well preserved, this very attractive example of the popular reference 1500 was presented to the father of the present owner by a member of a Middle Eastern Royal House as a token of gratitude.
It is the rarest and most desirable version of the reference 1500 ever made. The matte black dial with printed silver signature is the special “Arabic” numerals type made only in extremely small quantities and usually with silvered dial. The vintage appeal of this scarce reference 1500 is completed by the alpha hands and engine-turned flat bezel with baton markers.
According to our research, this is the first reference 1500 in steel with black “Arabic” dial to appear at auction in the last twenty years, it would be an excellent addition to any Rolex collection or as an eye-catching and wearable timepiece.
