Note du spécialiste

French actor Charles Boyer acted alongisde Audrey in How To Steal A Million, playing the part of gallery owner DeSolnay. Audrey's co-star Peter O'Toole remembered Charles had just lost his son. We had to shoot a gay scene. I wondered, at such a moment, if his memory would hold out. It did; Boyer thought of nothing but playing the scene well, but we all had tears in our eyes... Bloody total perfection. Boyer's letter presumably refers to his difficulty in dealing with the death of his son Michael, who committed suicide on September 22, 1965 at only 22. Tragically, Boyer himself would also commit suicide in 1978 following the death of his wife from cancer.
