Specialist note
The Heuer chronographs issued to the Kenyan Air Force continue to hold many mysteries and pique interest for Heuer collectors. The present watch is part of the rare series of Autavias with tin luminous Arabic numerals placed radially on the dial. Watches with this unique configuration are known as “Shauntavias” after the English collector Shaun Wainstein first discovered one in the Portobello Market in London and concluded it could be real.
The present watch is preserved in spectacular condition. The fluorescent orange central hands pop against the dial, giving it a distinctive and unusual look straight out of the 1970s. For collectors of military watches and/or Heuer chronographs, the present watch is a special opportunity to gain an outstanding specimen.
