Specialist note

A third generation watchmaker, Laurent Ferrier has an exceptionally impressive C.V., including a total of four decades at Patek Philippe, ultimately becoming technical and product director, as well as placing third overall at the 1979 Le Mans on a Porsche 935, just behind the team that included Paul Newman.

The first model that Ferrier produced when he established his own brand was the Galet Classic Micro-Rotor which contained a number of significant features: a micro-rotor automatic winding system fixed between the main plate and the micro-rotor bridge, a silicon escapement with double direct impulse on the balance and a silent block shock protection system for the microrotor. The Galet Classic Micro-Rotor was officially presented at Baselworld in 2010 and was met with instant praise. The example offered here today has been consigned by the original owner and was produced as a special request in the highly desirable and classical combination of white gold, black dial and Breguet numerals.
