Specialist note

The present example is one of very few ref. G581 models known to the market and is arguably the finest in terms of condition. It is reported that Zenith produced only 250 examples of this reference.

Ref. G581 was part of the family of the early El Primero automatic chronographs that along with the Calibre 11 movement and the Seiko reference 6139 were all introduced in 1969 as part of the first three automatic chronograph movements brought to market.
